PDFAA is Open for New Members!

Attention anglers, Plymouth & District Freshwater Angling Association (PDFAA) have spaces available for new members for the 2021 season!!!  

Experienced river anglers will love our extensive waters with good stocks of wild brown trout, sea trout and salmon. The Tavy in particular is renowned for the latter with some real beasts! We would also welcome people new to the sport and perhaps experienced saltwater anglers looking for a new challenge.

Fishing rivers is a discipline like no other with skill and guile and constant movement being needed to cover the water and get fish. It certainly isn’t sitting in a deck chair with a thermos! Fishing is predominantly on the fly with spinning being permitted for salmon and sea trout. 

We have rights to the river Plym from Plymbridge up to Bickleigh Bridge. Also, the rivers around Shaugh Prior which are the Cad from Shaugh Bridge up to just below Cadover and the Meavy from Shaugh Bridge up to Lower Goodmeavy. We also have an extensive stretch of the Tavy from the Power Station to Harford Bridge and additional water near the trout fishery. 

For anyone interested in starting fly fishing, getting set up is cheaper than you would think. There are good packages available and we have put together links to get you going below:
