Saturday 5th September, 2020 saw many of the PDFAA members meet up for a day’s fishing at Burrator Reservoir. We were blessed with favourable weather conditions, if a little windy (isn’t it always up there) and the promise of shoals of trout being landed!
It didn’t quite work out that way with the lake keeping her occupants under wraps for the most part with only one fish being caught over the day (I don’t remember who by but he was definitely the best looking person there) but as they say, it’s called fishing not catching!
In any case, it was really fun to see people getting together. So often when you are fishing alone in our extensive waters it is easy to forget that you are part of a club. I think we all felt that sense of camaraderie that you only get when like minded people come together yesterday for a real laugh and a generous sharing of a combined experience of many, many decades!
With the end of the season in sight today will be one of many great memories to keep us warm over the winter and was a great advert for our club.
Thanks so much to Mike Green (Chair) and Jason Harper (Secretary) for getting everyone together and getting us fed.
Good to meet all that came!
